1. Egypt, Britian, France, Israel 2. The Suez Canal 3. Nasser the president of Egypt wanted the canal to close down, that would make ships take way longer time to reach their goals. 4. The USSR wanted to get in, and that would jeorodize the relations between them and the U.S.
