Because there is so much to review with the Cold War, I will give you the choice of topics. I recommend that you review a topic that you need more work on, because I will be grading you on effort here. I want you to try hard to review the topics, not just put down basic information that you know off the bat. Do a little review and make this worthwhile.
Choose two of the following topics and write a paragraph for each, explaining the significance or position. Feel free to take the US or USSE position, or both.
1. Development of the Atomic Bomb 2. Korean War 3. China's Relations with USSR and USA 4. Hungary 5. Poland 6. Division of Germany 7. Conflict in the Congo 8. Peace Conferences (Potsdam of Yalta)

Korean War On June 25, 1950, the Korean War began when some 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south. This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War. By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf. As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself. After some early back-and-forth across the 38th parallel, the fighting stalled and casualties mounted with nothing to show for them. China's Relations with USSR and USA The United States had much to offer China. Since Mao Zedong's takeover in 1949, the United States had refused recognition to the communist government. Instead, the Americans pledged support to the Chinese Nationalist government in Taiwan.n June 1971 Kissinger traveled secretly to China to make preparations for a Presidential visit. After Kissinger's return, Nixon surprised everyone by announcing that he would travel to China and meet with Mao Zedong. Soon after, the United States dropped its opposition to Chinese entry in the United Nations and groundwork was laid for the eventual establishment of diplomatic relations.

Development of the atomic bomb
During the second world war, the United states was "forced" into war because of the Pearl Harbor bombings. So there were 2 major powers fighting during the end of the war, the United States and the USSR. So the united states wanted to create a powerfuk weapon that would further increase their force over the USSR so they went through the Manhattan project to create the first atomic bomb that was dropped twice on the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima that sparked the Cold War Atomic Weapon race in which both the USSR and USA were developing their nuclear arsenal
The Korean War The Korean War was a war between North and South Korea in which lasted from 1950-1953. And was a major part in showing the sifnificance of the proxy war on the expansion of influence from The USSR and the United States. North korea represented the Coomunist Ideals and was heavily backed up by the China and The Soviets while South Korea was Backed by the Western Powers, the United States and United Kingdom. The War ended in a stalmate with a huge militarized Border placed between them by the United Nations that still exists today with both sides refusing to acknowledge its existence.

China's relations with USSR and USA:
After the cultural revolution in China, where Mao became its ruler, China became a communist country. As such, it developed a relationship with the USSR where they helped one another, while they became one of the U.S.'s enemies. However, after Krushchev's death, China tried to make its relationship with the U.S. Better as the Soviet Union was weakened and China didn't want to lose power, which might've been the case if the USSR fell at that time.
Korean War:
After the nuclear weapon was developed in the USSR, Stalin believed Americans would be less willing to engage in combat. When the USSR helped the north invade the south, they were surprised that the Americans were willing to stop them from expanding. During the proxy war, the Americans had superior firepower, they fought until China intervened, after which the fight head nearly at a standstill. Both sides agreed to a border on the 38th parallel.
